New Version more errata some obvservations


Over the course of a couple of playtests I noticed a few issues.

Version Numbers

Technically this is my 19th edit of the core book; the Game has been in development for a few months going through iterations but the written rule book for me counts as where I start counting versions I’ve moved it to the 19th iteration of an edit in the PDF so I wanted to bring that all inline.

Table of Contents Its not automated like I expect so I manually add content when I add pages. I could make my life easier if I didn’t have this layout like a booklet. Next time Ill not bother with that and just have a stream of pages.

Game Loop / Activations

In a few game plays a few players keep trying to “play pass/serve” when the haggis has only just arrived on their side of the net. A couple of iterations and they could see the why it had to be a more asynchronous event within the “Moment” This section needs a little more example of play to demonstrate where and when. In addition many players are activating cards to move the haggis, not their minis. Technically its not wrong but it loses the opportunity to bluff out the opposition by placing team then declaring the move of the haggis. Again this needs more time to reflect on how to word the event.

Passing the Haggis over the Net

For the longest time i have been using the Heart suit to punch the haggis over the net. It occurred to me that this undoes the anger of the haggis. Instead then we use Club/Spade to handle Punch/Spike actions. Though from a serve there is really only a punch/lob action. I am thinking I might amend the use of ACE to allow players to accurately play a Punch as well.

Magic

Missed in the edit but a run of cards , numbers in a sequential order but not necessarily the same suit , would not have same suits to select choice from . I’ve amended this to a new version where you can pick how you act on luck.
